If you live or work in New York City or Westchester County, where roughly half of your drinking water comes from the Delaware River Watershed, you can join ASBN's ongoing campaign, "Clean Water is Good for Business," to protect this vital water source. The Business Case for Supporting Clean Water in the Delaware River Watershed

This campaign, organized by the American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN), aims to build a coalition advocating for drinking water protections, including soil health, green stormwater infrastructure, regenerative agriculture, and more. New York State's drinking water ranks seventh in the nation, with almost ninety-five percent of residents relying on public water supply systems. These systems face challenges from aging infrastructure, toxic sites, and eroding public health programs.

Two bills advanced by NYSBC this year address water quality concerns: the "PFAS in Apparel" bill (S6291a/A7063a) and the "Moratorium on Cryptocurrency Mining" (S6486d/A7389c). The former bans common apparel with intentionally added PFAS, known for water pollution, while the latter requires an environmental review for energy-consuming cryptocurrency mining operations. If you're willing to speak with representatives about these issues, let us know, and we'll connect you with key decision-makers. Your business voice is powerful in safeguarding communities and natural resources.
